Everybody Still Loves You

After 3 years of promising a new record was "on its way" - and even starting to doubt it myself - I finally dropped my third studio album on Wednesday October 22, my 24th birthday. "Everybody Still Loves You" is an project about yearning for the better version of yourself. It's about mourning that idealized person, forgiving the person you really are, and trying to find some kind of balance between self acceptance and self improvement. It’s about imagined realities vs this one, it’s about the intersection of fear and love, it's about the desire to be understood.

The album has 10 tracks - 5 songs on an electric "A Side" and 5 songs on an acoustic "B Side". Every song on the A side corresponds to a song on the B side; they're partner songs, about the same topic from different perspectives. So, song 1 and song 6 are partner songs, song 2 and song 7, etc.

“Everybody Still Loves You" features Matt “Sabyu” Sablan on production, mixing (all tracks), engineering (A side), guitar (04, 05), and drums (03), Josh Hill on bass (A side), Greg Fields on drums (01, 02, 04, 05) and organ (02), Anyango Arunga on trumpet (03), Thaddeus Turner on engineering (B side), and me on songwriting, arrangement, co-production, vocals, guitar (all tracks). Cover art by Betsy Siegel. You can buy it on bandcamp (sliding scale!) or stream it on all platforms.

Thank you to everyone who came to the 10/24 mountain room show!

it was such a lovely night - the other artists played so gorgeously and were so kind and everyone in the crowd was so lovely. it was a really special evening - thank you guys :)) check out Abserdia and Evan Flory-Barnes and the Esteemed Gentlemen - the two other incredible bands who played!

Recommendations :)

I know you rely on me for your arts and culture recommendations. Understandable. I can't list every song or book or movie I'm loving right now, but I'll give you a few!

Who Knows Where the Time Goes?

This song by the Fairport Convention is such a heartbreakingly gorgeous tune. It’s been on repeat recently.

Singin’ in the Rain

I recently rewatched Singin' in the Rain - perfect movie, no notes (expect that one scene is wayyy too long).

Seeds to Harvest

I'm deep in a re-read of Octavia Butler's Patternist Series (trying out chronological order instead of publication order this time!) and it remains one of my favorite series of all time.

thank you for reading! enjoy the record :)
