Work Experience

Totem Star Leadership Collective Board Co-Chair (Aug. 2020- Aug. 2021)

Totem Star is a nonprofit music studio for youth in the Seattle area. I was recently asked to act as co-chair for the organization’s new youth advisory board, TLC. We work to inform Totem Star policy and advocate for the organization’s youth. All our work is currently being done remotely.

Junior Studio Manager at Totem Star Music Studio, Part-time employee (Jun. 2019- Aug 2019)

I worked at Totem Star for a summer job, during which I assisted artists with their recording sessions, wrote new studio policy, and did file management/data entry/all the super glamorous stuff you think about when you picture a music studio.

Communications Manager at Totem Star, Intern (Oct. 2017- May 2019)

As a Totem Star intern, I wrote articles for the organization’s website, planned/hosted events, and organized the production and release of the annual mixtape.

Awards & Wins

Sarah Lawrence College Battle of the Bands Winner (Nov. 2021)

This was the first show I played with a full band since arriving on the East Coast. My quickly-assembled band (we had three days of rehearsal) won the first battle of the bands of the year. You can watch our full set here.

Seattle Opera’s Creation Lab (2020)

I applied to this Seattle Opera fellowship for composers and writers ages 18-30. I was one of a handful of accepted applicants and I’ve just begun the process of writing co-writing my first ever opera. Getting this opportunity was so humbling: it’s an honor to work alongside such talented folks from an artistic discipline I’m so new to.

SoundOff! Wild Card Pick (2020)

SoundOff! is an annual battle of the bands put on by Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture. I competed in 2020 and won the wild card slot for my semifinal. Then, the MoPOP Youth Advisory Board chose me and my band as the wild card pick to progress to the finals. Unfortunately, the finals were canceled due to covid so I never got to compete in those.

Robert Bloch Award for Music (2020)

Every year my alma mater, Nova High School, awards this to one graduating senior musician. When I graduated (over a Youtube Livestream, cause pandemic), my lovely high school teachers chose me for this honor.

Gates Foundation 100 Changemakers (2019)

I was awarded this from the Gates Foundation for being “one of the 100 most influential young changemakers in Washington state”, specifically for my music, activism, and work with Totem Star.

Honorable Mention from ACT Theatre’s Young Playwright’s Program (2018)

Award in Excellence in Playwriting from ACT Theatre’s Young Playwright’s Program (2017)

At the 2017 ACT Theatre YPP Awards, my play, Lovely Rita, was chosen to be workshopped and performed by the Rain City Projects. I was given an “award of excellence” for the piece.

Play Chosen to Be Produced by ACT Theatre at ACT Theatre’s Young Playwright’s Program (2016)

At the 2016 ACT Theatre YPP Awards, my first ever play, My Childhood?, was chosen as one of eight out of over 200 entries to be workshopped and performed by ACT Theatre. This is sort of considered to be the “grant prize” of the annual award show, and receiving this honor was quite overwhelming for my freshman-self.

Canary - Single (Feb. 2020)

Released on February 23rd of 2020, Canary is an ode to physical, mental, and emotional sensitivity. I wrote it during the diagnosis process of an autoimmune disorder that affects my esophagus and ability to sing and it was the first-ever good full-length song I ever wrote by myself.

Belly Ache - Single (Feb. 2020)

Belly Ache is a silly little love song about liking somebody so much it hurts, even when they might not be very nice to you. I released it as a single on February 23rd 2020 and then completely rearranged and rerecorded it for my 2021 album.

Breakthrough - Single (Jul. 2019)

Breakthrough is a song I wrote with my friends and recorded at Stone Gossard’s music studio. We released it as part of a mixtape on July 4th, 2018 and you can listen to it/read more about it here.
